About the Band

City of Trees Brass Band was born on the streets of Sacramento, drawing influences in the form of music and tradition from the city and music of New Orleans. While musicians call them Jazz, casual listeners prefer more abstract descriptions like Party, Celebration, and Dance. Over the years, the band has reached the Sacramento community by staying true to its “takin’ it to the streets” upbringing as well as hitting all of the staple venues in Sac. Today CoT boasts active chapters of the band in both its hometown and the city from which it just couldn’t stay away, New Orleans, Louisiana. Whether you’re on the Dirty Coast or the Golden one, keep your ears and your hearts open for City of Trees Brass Band.
